In Year 11, we build upon knowledge from Year 10, but our key focus is application of knowledge for exam success, teaching exam technique for individual questions and enhancing essay writing skills in literature.
We provide students with all resources, a plethora of practice exam papers, model answers and succinct feedback on their own work so students understand exactly how to succeed.
We teach all set texts- examples of some set texts:
Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, The Tempest, The Merchant of Venice, Much Ado About Nothing and Julius Caesar.
19th Century literature: A Christmas Carol, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Great Expectations, Jane Eyre, Frankenstein, Pride and Prejudice and The Sign of Four.
Modern Texts: An Inspector Calls, Blood Brothers, Lord of the Flies, Animal Farm, and many others texts.
Poetry: Love and Relationships and Power and Conflict anthologies.
